Rugby & Northampton AC went into the final regional match of the Midlands Premier UKYDL match knowing that a top three finish would ensure a place in the National Final and the athletes did not disappoint !
From the off it was clear that Birchfield would prove stiff opposition and that proved to be the case with the lead changing throughout the day. It was R & N who prevailed, however, ensuring a place in the National Final.
On the track the middle distance athletes really shone, with impressive victories from Alex Kampta, Freya Carty and Henry Marriott in the 800m. It was in the field, however, where R & N really excellend with the throwers proving the difference with Taya Young, Isabella Babalola, Archie Nicholson, Kye McCabe, James Taylor, Joy Akwara, Amelia Rex and and Martha Lee all claiming victories in their event.
The Final will take place in Liverpool on September 5th with the chance of retaining the title the club won last year
