Copson sets new British record

Rugby & Northampton star Angela Copson set yet another British-record recently as she smashed her own over 65 Women’s 10-mile time.

The international veteran and multiple world-record breaker completed the distance in 71mins 52secs to beat her own previous best of 72.07 by an impressive 15 seconds, and set another British marker.

Competing in the Sneyd Striders Christmas Pud race, 66-year-old Copson finished 101st overall in a field of nearly 400 runners, winning the over 60s female race and ending as the 12th female finisher regardless of age.

Rugby & Northampton’s roster of athletes will be training over the festive period as they prepare to resume action early in the new year. A packed early 2014 calendar kicks-off on Saturday January 4th with the Cross Country County Championships.
