Rugby & Northampton AC extended their lead in the Nation-wide youth development league (Midlands Division), with a commanding team performance at the Rugby track.
Outstanding performances came thick and thin throughout the day, with the throwers leading the way. There were individual victories for Haley Dimond, Afua Agordo, Emily Kendrick and Chelsea Adams on the female side, whilst Giane Marsella, Gabe Mayall, Jack Hancock and Moyo Stumpenhusen all threw to victory on the male side.
Not to be outdone, the jumpers were also superb with victories for David Oduwusi, Jeydon Allen-Bramble and William Hovell with the hurdlers being dominated throughout.
Blustery conditions made the track events challenging but R & N again showed its strength in depth with a whole array of outstanding – perhaps topped off by double victory by Olivia McGhee in the 800m and 1500m steeplechase. It was particularly pleasing to see so many new many faces – many of whom were marking their debuts for the club.
With one match remaining, R & N sit on top of the table, knowing that a top three finish in the remaining match will assure the team of a place in National Final for the third year in a row !!
