Having finished second at the National finals last year, Rugby & Northampton AC, were keen to see how the new cohort of U13 and U15 athletes would fair against the strongest clubs in the Midlands and they did not disappoint !
The tone of the day was set by the hurdlers with R & N athletes dominating proceeding with numerous National level performances – notably from Ava Hession (U13G), Jacob Vural (U15B) and Grace McCollin (U15G). The victories continued on the track throughout the day with a hold host of impressive performances against strong opposition.
The field team also produced a whole crop of stellar performances with Moyo Stumpenhusen leading the way in the U15B discus with the second furthest throw in the UK this year.
As ever, the relays were a real highlight, with the U15B stealing the show with a UK leading time of 46.6 seconds, just below the all time club record.
The overall team results never seemed in doubt as R & N raced to an incredible 170 points victory over second place Milton Keynes
