Rugby & Northampton AC produced a fine set of individual and team performances to claim second place overall in the prestigious West Midlands Cross Country League. The U11 boys set the tone for the day with an outstanding performance. Alex Kampta raced to second position with David Allen, Miles Taylor, Isaac Brierley Yorke and Rufus Jones all close behind. Alex claimed overall series bronze. The U11 girls also saw an R & N silver, as Bella Lamb finished an impressive second place on the day, claiming overall victory in the series.
The U13 boys produced their best result of the year with Matthew Hill leading the way in 15th position. The U13 girls race saw a dominant R & N team cruise to an emphatic victory. Jessica Lamb dominated the race claiming victory by 20 meters with the remaining team members all finishing in the first fifteen.
The U15 boys also produced their strongest run of the series to claim third place on the day with the team led by Nathan Lamb in an impressive 8th position. The U15 girls race was again dominated by Olivia McGhee as she stormed to victory – making this an unprecedented clean sweep of victories.
The U17 men, led by Thomas Brinkley in fifth, capped off an outstanding year by claiming victory on the day and overall series gold. The final race was the U17 women, many of whom were making their final appearance as young athletes before moving to seniors next year. Madeleine Jacks yet again led the R & N contingent as she raced to sixth position.
