Rugby & Northampton athletes produced some outstanding performances at the National cross country championships held in Chester. For the U13G, Bella Brougham was an excellent 106th position whilst Olivia McGhee produced perhaps her best ever performance to finish in 18th position in the U15G race. The U17 men had three R & N competitors as Thomas Brinkley led the way in an impressive 66th position. Finlay Ward also produced an outstanding run to finish in 18th position in the U20 men’s race but the outstanding performance of the day came from Megan Stenhouse in the U20 women’s race, as she finished in a superb 14th place, having run a well judged race to move through the field throughout the race.
The senior men fielded a strong team and finished a creditable 30th overall with Haydn Arnall and Dominic Jones trading places throughout to finish in 62nd and 64th place respectively.
