Rugby & Northampton Athletics Club hosted an internal invitational match at its Moulton College base with some outstanding performances and many athletes making their debut for the club.
For the U11s, David Allen shone with three individual victories and their were victories in the U11 girls events for Nia Ubhi (75m) and double victory for Alexa Worster in the 150m and 600m. Sonny Briggs-McKellar dominated the U13 boys sprint events whilst Jasmin Jessamy took the U13G 75m ahead of Mary Taylor, who also won the 150m and hurdles. Devon Edwards won double gold in the javelin and shot whilst Martha Pollard did likewise the U13 girls throws.
The older age groups saw several outstanding performances and some excellent races – the pick of which being Bella Banks pipping Ella Darby in the U15G 75m hurdles. The throws also saw some top notch performances with Monty Lee stealing the limelight with a massive personal best of 11m 96. An excellent night’s athletics finishing with the 200m races under the floodlight Northampton skies !
