Rugby & Northampton AC senior teams competed on the annual Midland Counties cross country relays and for the first time, collected medals in both mens and womens races.
For the ladies, Lucy Stevens, currently at Birmingham University, produced an outstanding run on the first leg to put R & N in contention and this led the way for Tilly Lea and Lorna Hession to bring the team home in the bronze medal position.
Alistair McDonnel made a cautious start in the mens race but stormed through the field on the second of the two laps to bring home the team in 3rd position after the first leg, passing over to Finlay Ward, who produced an outstanding run to keep the team in medal contention. Haydn Arnall in his first competitive run since the London marathon ripped around the 6kn course to hand over to William Gardner in 2nd position. William confirmed his improved form to maintain the position to bring home the team in the silver medal position.
