Saturday 17th June saw the second in the series Heart of England matches hosted at the Rugby track. In this league, there are events for U11 athletes upwards with athletes competing against seven other clubs. This league always gives U11s the chance to shine and the R & N U11s shone brightly !
In the 75 m, there were outstanding wins for Lucas Mackenzie and Lewis Mukarati, whilst the pairing of William King and Henry Marriott stormed to outstanding victories in their 600m races.
The U13s also produced a whole string of victories with Eva Birkinshaw (javelin) and Bella Lamb (800m) the leading lights for the girls, whilst Riley Michaels (shot) and Liam Mumbure (high jump) produced performances of the highest standard.
The U15s also did really well with some excellent victories and personal best performances – notably from Laike Favier (300m) Lucas Ngatia (high jump), Giana Marsella (shot and javelin), Isabella Milanese (hurdles), Martha Pollard (javelin) and Jake Clarke (1500m)
The U17 athletes also excelled with Ella Darby leading the way with an impressive victory in the 300m
