Senior Cross Country Leagues – Newbold Comyn, Leamington – Sat 15th November

MIDLAND WOMENS XC LEAGUE Div 1

The Rugby & Northampton women took part in the first race of the Midland Women’s Cross League Division 1 at Leamington.

Leading them home was Lucy Stevens in an excellent 14^th place. She was backed up by three Junior athletes when Evie Marston placed 24^th which placed her 5^th in the U20 category, Madeleine Jacks in 33^rd for 12^th U20 and Rebecca Eaton in 68^th (14^th Junior).The team finished in 6^th place on the day, their best ever performance in the League

Debutant, Katie Jefferson was 82^nd followed by Junior Jemima Lambert 95^th (31^st Junior) with Tilly Lea 102^nd and Monika Korendova 135^th. Three masters’ athletes completed the Team, with Courtney Depala (150^th), Gemma Grew (157^th) and Minerva Chesser (196^th).

Also, at Leamington the R&N Men were taking part in the centenary year of the Birmingham & District Cross Country League. In the Division One race Finaly Ward led home the club in 5^th place over the 10k course in 31:39 with Luke Greer following in 11^th spot on 32:36. Matthew Everett finished 48^th (34:58) with Dominic Evans 57^th (35:23) and Ethan Compton 67^th (35:46). Completing the scoring six was masters’ athlete James Southall in 167^th (40:02) to put the squad in 8^th place. Also competing for the B team were Sam Jackson (178^th), Juniors Lyall Lambert (180^th) and Oscar Currie (198^th) along with Thomas Cole (204^th) and Vince Carroll (263^rd).
