Rugby & Northampton AC finished three men in the top ten of the Harborough 5 miles to achieve their third victory in the Senior Mens team race of the East Midlands Grand Prix Series.

In the sixth race of the competition new recruit Dominic Jones had a superb run to finish in second place with a time of 27:41, which was 28 seconds behind winner Steven Horton of Bedford Harriers.

Stephen Marks had another 5th spot with 28:05 and Richard Latimer duplicated his time from Blisworth with 28:15 for 7th position.

John Gercs completed the winning quartet in a time of 29:17 for 17th overall, but 5th in the M45 section.

There were good performances also from Daniel Williams (18th in 29:42 ) and Jonathan Burke (26th in 30:28 ).

The Veteran Men finished in 6th place and joining Gercs in the team were Nigel Roberts ( M45 8th in 30:48 ), Laurence Scott (M50 5th in 33:55) and Michael Howell (M50 12th in 36:55 ).

Oliver Munns finished fourth U20M with 33:35.

In the Ladies section R&N’s Vicky Nealon became the sixth different athlete to lead home the club in the Series when she clinched 3rd spot in 32:52 behind former Northampton Phoenix runner Anna Folland who made it a Bedford Harriers double with 30:59.

In seventh position Lorna Latimer recorded 35:17 and Kate Williams closed out the Senior Ladies team in 31st overall and 3rd in the over 55 race with 38:48, which put them in 2nd spot on the night.

Backing up Williams in the Veteran team were Helen Jones ( F45 9th in 39:37 ) and Valerie Cross (F65 2nd in 55:52 ) to finish 9th.
