Twelve new marks were set by RNAC athletes during the month of May. Another sprint record for Caleb Downes plus three relay records confirming the depth of sprint talent in the club, Senior Men’s 4 x 100, Under 15 Boys 4 x 300 and the Under 15 Girls 4 x 300. Three middle distance records for Jacob Allen, Tilly Lea and Claudia Searle. In the Under 15 girls, there were throwing records for Milan Clues and Katie Cox, whilst Lucy Cousins and Kiona McLennon set new marks for Under 17 throws. June 2014

Fourteen  individual records and two club relay records were broken during the  month of June. Pride of place must go to Caleb Downes, who at the age of just 16 now holds the club record over both 100 and 200 metres – the  fastest runner the club has ever had! In the middle distance events,  Kirsty Goddard broke her own 1500 steeplechase record, whilst both Adam  Searle in the Under 15 age group and Jack Bond in the Under 17s, both  broke the club record for 3000 metres. Both the Men’s and Women’s Under 20 relay squads set new records for the 4 x 100 metres, indeed the Men’s time is also a new Senior record, so the fastest relay run by our club team ever.

In the field, there were  new Under 15 records for Milan Clues in both the Shot and the Javelin,  whilst Kiona McLennon, Lucy Cousins and Evie Harris-Jenkins all improved the records for the new throwing weights at Under 17 level. Craig Murch also improved his own Men’s Hammer record. Eleanor Broome set another record in the Long Jump, this  time she improved the U17 Women’s record to almost 6 metres.

This month we also include records for the Under 13s Howler. This is not a  recognised event at the older age, but is generally held in the Under  12s League. If anyone knows of better performances in the Howler throw  over the past few years, please email Jim Elder.

Please note only records to 30 June 2014 are included in this update. If any member knows of a club record that is missing please email james.elder56@hotmail.co.uk.
