Ladies Running Group: Rugby
Established in 2009 the Ladies Running Group is part of Rugby & Northampton AC and has more than 150 regular members catering for women of all ages and abilities, shapes & sizes, complete novices to intermediate runners. 2015 saw the first ever Ladies Running Group member complete an Ultra Marathon.
Whether you are looking to compete in your first 5k or dream of running a marathon the group will provide you with coach led sessions and a specific training plan to meet your on-going individual needs. You’ll soon find yourself running with like-minded women keen to welcome you into the group.
Your personal goal may be to get fit, lose weight, relieve work pressure, escape from the kids for an hour or meet new people – you will find all the above in the group.

If you’re completely new to running or returning after a break, the 16 week Beginners course will get you under starter’s orders. The course commences every January / February and lasts for 16 weeks culminating in members running the Ready Steady Fun Run 5k in May. The next group is due to start Saturday 30th January 2016. The intermediate group is suitable for those who have completed the Beginners course or who can already run 5K.
Intermediate training takes place at Rugby Athletics Track (next to the new Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Centre) at 9.00am every Saturday.The sessions are a mixture of track based training and calculated distance runs depending on your target distance (5k, 10K, 10 miles, half marathon or marathon) with everyone working towards carefully chosen group events.
All sessions are with qualified & experienced female coaches. Fun, friendship and a shared commitment to supporting each other to achieve personal goals is an integral part of the group.
